This small painting depicts a moment of transformation. A mermaid has been washed ashore unconscious, attempting to come in contact with humans. She doesn’t know yet that she will wake up with human legs. An unknown witch showed up exactly at the right time to make that change. Maybe for her safety, maybe for a challenge, maybe for a price.
